Senior Safety Chad Abrams sat down with KHSFootball.com to talk about how the recruiting process went for him and why he signed with Florida State University.

KHSFootball.com: Talk about the recruiting process and what it was like for you.

Chad Abrams: "The recruiting process was very easy for me because I had my mind made up as soon as I got my offer from Florida State and went to their Junior Day. I had fell in love with the school and wanted to go back as soon as I left."

KHSFootball.com: What were the schools that you had to narrow down your choices to?

Chad Abrams: "I didn't really get the chance to narrow my choices down because I liked FSU so much but when I found out I got offered by Alabama I did think about that but never to the point that I could see myself playing for them."

KHSFootball.com: How did you come up with your final decision and how tough was it to make?

Chad Abrams: "I had been committed to FSU since March of 2009 so it made it easy for me to decide I wanted to be up there. My mother and I built a good relationship with Coach Haggins and came up with the final decision."

KHSFootball.com: Talk about the school you picked and why you decided to play football there.

Chad Abrams: "Of course the school I picked is FSU which is a very rich tradition. They have won 2 National Titles and this year I would be coached by former Miami Defensive Backs Coach, Mark Stoops. I decided to play football for FSU because my chances off getting on the field early are great."

KHSFootball.com: What advice could you give to the underclassmen looking to continue their football careers after high school?

Chad Abrams: "I would advise the underclassmen looking to continue their football careers after high school to follow their heart on where they want to go and look over all their choices to make sure that wherever they end up going would satisfy them and they could enjoy their lives there. My decision was fairly easy because I'm a fan of FSU but that might be different for someone else. So I would say to sit down with your family and make the decision."

KHSFootball.com: How would you liked to be remembered as a football player at Kathleen High School?

Chad Abrams: "When I leave Kathleen High School I would like to be remembered as the hardest hitting Saftey to ever play for the Red Devils and I would like to be remembered as the one who lead by example."
