Courtesy: KHSFootball.com Class of 2005 Wide Receiver Gerald Duffey was in town and KHSFootball.com was able to sit down with the former all-state talent and talk about how his college career is progressing. Duffey is entering his senior year on the football field at Liberty University.
KHSFootball.com: Talk about your goals for your senior year? Gerald Duffey: "Well, I've been moved back to offense so first I want to learn all of the plays. Since this is my senior year I want to go out with a bang and make this season the best of my football career."
KHSFootball.com: How has your college career gone so far? Gerald Duffey: "Because of my versatility I was moved from offense to defense throughout my career. I played receiver, saftety, corner, safety again and then will be back at receiver for my final year. Wherever they needed me that was where I played. I was starting to get some significant playing time last year, but I sprained my ankle."
KHSFootball.com: Where are you at academically? Gerald Duffey: "I've already graduated with a degree in psychology and I'm currently in a counseling program to work on receiving a master's degree."
KHSFootball.com: What will you do after school? Gerald Duffey: "First I want to finish my counseling program to get the master's and if there is a chance at the league (NFL) then I'll see what my options are."
KHSFootball.com: Would you like to offer any advice to the current group of Kathleen players looking to play football at the collegiate level? Gerald Duffey: "Work hard and take football seriously no matter what position you play. If you can put in the extra time to get better then do it. And always keep God first."
