This Friday Night, it’s time for revenge for the Bartow Yellow Jackets!

After jumping out to a large lead last year at home against the Kathleen Red Devils, the Jackets nearly held on to win the game, but as the game was ending the Jackets missed some six tackles that would have preserved a Bartow win.

This year’s game will feature two undefeated teams (3-0) that are both 1-0 in district play. The winner of this game will have an inside track on gaining a playoff birth.

Kathleen was in uncharted territory last year as they missed the playoffs with a 5-5 record, ending their streak of five straight district titles.

The Red Devils will test the Jacket defense as they pass with extreme accuracy, led by quarterback Isaac O’Neal, who passed for more than 1,300 yards last year with 15 touchdowns.

Both teams have high powered offenses and stingy defenses. The Red Devils have allowed only 14 points in three games and Bartow has yet to allow a defensive touchdown.

The game will be held at Johnny Johnson Stadium in Lakeland, with kick-off coming at 7:30 p.m.

The Jacket Nation needs to come out in full force!

Records so far this year:

• Bartow High School — 38-0 (Mulberry), 21-6 (Ridge), 36-0 (George Jenkins)

• Kathleen High School — 27-14 (Tampa Jesuit), 33-0 (Lake Region), Auburndale (41-0)
