Courtesy: BayNews9.com By BHSN.COM STAFF BARTOW -- Omar Carvajal kicked a 32-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining to lift the visiting Kathleen Red Devils (3-1, 2-0 in 4A-8) to a 10-7 victory over Bartow Friday night. The Yellow Jackets (2-2, 0-2) had tied the game on a 69-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Buddy Putnam to Jordan White midway through the third quarter. Junior running back Terry Bentley got the Red Devils on the scoreboard first, capping a scoring drive with a six-yard run to give Kathleen a 7-0 first-quarter lead, and finished with 119 yards on the ground. Senior Rod Smith led the Yellow Jackets rushing attack, with 30 carries for 108 yards. Bartow will try to bounce back next week when they host Fort Meade, while Kathleen has a home matchup with George Jenkins. |
