AUBURNDALE | Kathleen could do no wrong, and Auburndale couldn't do anything right in a 41-0 rout on Friday night at Bruce Canova Stadium.

The vaunted Red Devils defense confused Auburndale all game and never allowed the offense to get any momentum.

Kathleen's offense, on the other hand, played pitch and catch up and down the field as the Red Devils finished with 264 yards total offense, 177 coming by way of the passing game.

Kathleen quarterback Isaac O'Neal went 9-for-16 for 177 yards, completing passes to six different receivers. O'Neal's favorite target was wide receiver Marcus Cunningham, who had four receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

"We are blessed to have five or six receivers that can catch the ball in this offense," Kathleen coach Irving Strickland said. "We knew Auburndale was going to play us in a cover 3, which gave us a chance to throw the ball."

The Bloodhounds struggled to move the ball at all offensively, gaining 65 yards total offense. Kathleen held the Bloodhounds to just seven yards of offense in the second half, and Auburndale finished the game with more penalties (6) than first downs (2).

The only opportunity the Bloodhounds had to put points on the scoreboard came in the fourth quarter when quarterback Collin O'Neal had wide receiver Jamiah Crawford wide open down the sideline, but the ball bounced off his hands.

Kathleen (3-0) plays Bartow at home next week, while Auburndale (0-3) travels to rival Winter Haven.
